Tough loss yesterday for you boys. You deserved a better fate for sure. But that Dubnyk guy was just on another level.

Trivia answer, Loui Eriksson.

Nice. I thought that was a tough question but apparently not as tough as I thought.

Yeah, Dubnyk was terrific. It must be frustrating for Richards and the players to put that kind of effort up but to still come up short. Nothing else to do but try to bring that same intensity tonight and hopefully get a few past either Niemi or Greiss.

Seemed like the standards for beating Dubnyk far outstripped the standards for beating the oilers. Stifling forecheck and good play on the boards kept the play in our zone all day and neutralized our speed. Columbus deserved better.

Hopefully we get a couple of those games where our goalie steals the win. Hard to take but that's hockey sometimes. If they play with that effort more they will win some games.

It was a tough question. Not everyone out there has watched as much hockey over the years as people like me. Ha!

Yeah, you guys play like yesterday, it won't take long to string together some big W's. Though you really do need your tenders to step up. Mason is just not cut to be more then a backup. Bobs is the guy that I think could step his game up and be the guy you guys need. Time will tell.

What's bothering me about Bob is how out of position he gets himself after making the first save. I'm not sure if his technique needs a little polishing at this point or if he just isn't too comfortable between the pipes at times.

I can see that. His confidence level is not yet as high as it should be. I think he's trying to do too much and get's caught out of position because of it. The guy is unfortunately playing with a D corps that's (sorry) not exactly high end talent. That's something that will play havoc with a young guys mental landscape.

I thnk he just needs sometime, and "polish" as you say. Let him get this season under his belt, have your boys grow together, and maybe next year can step in a raise the bar a bit.

OMG...you are actually a CBJ blogger? Never knew they had one...and that is not a trolling attempt.

Ah, I had to take a leave of absence from the Band in order to focus fully on this. Yeah, the Jackets had a blogger here up until October and I picked it up a couple weeks back.

Thank you for the compliment; there is always room on the bandwagon. The question is whether you want to jump on now or when they start winning some games.

I remember when the CBJ entered the league. I sent them an email wishing them luck. I got a reply back thanking for the kind words. Always had a soft spot for them ever since. Classy move replying to someone that wont be a part of their constant financial support.

Tell me about it eh? See Glen, you've managed to make a Flyers and Leafs fan agree on something the eve of the Leafs embarassing the Flyers. Hahahaha, kidding Grace.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, I did omit reference to the Eberle goal/non-goal. But I figured since it was a Jackets blog and the play didn't affect the outcome one way or the other as far as the Jackets were concerned.

That call could have gone either way. The official waved it off right away though and the replay was inconclusive. Had it been ruled a goal on the ice it would have stood. Close play.

Probably. Who knows how play would have gone after that. It certainly would have been a deflating goal against for Columbus. And it was an impressive play nonetheless by Eberle. What great hands the kid has.
